January 25, 2010 Upcoming litters.....

We have completed two breedings that we are very excited about. The first breeding is our lovely: CH Tesoro's Who's That Fawn? aka: Cali. She was just recently bred to our CH Fantasy's Brookside Rack 'em Up aka: Xander.
Our second breeding is our sweet little girl: Fantasy's Secret Indulgence aka: Indy. She was bred to AM CAN CH Double D's Secret Crush. Crush is a gorgeous, short backed boy that is owned and loved by our friend Linda Spahr at Perlin Pugs.

Both of these litters will be due at the end of March and we hope to have both pet and show puppies available.


January 24, 2010 CAN CH Fantasy's Brookside Rack 'em Up crosses the border....

Xander is in Portland, OR USA at the Rose City dog show and today he was Reserve Winners Male. Way to go Xander! Thank you to handler Ron Villafuerte for showing Xander and taking such good care of our boy!


January 21, 2010 New puppies are here....

We have new puppies out of our very own Darya. She gave birth to five gorgeous babies. The sire is our CH Fantasy's Brookside Rack 'em Up aka: Xander. We have three black girls, one fawn boy and one black boy. Darya and her puppies are doing well. This is Darya's second litter and after the puppies are weaned, she will be spayed.


December 12, 2009 - Available Puppy...

We have one 15 week old fawn female from the Indy x Roman breeding that is available to a pet home (photo below, puppy in front of box). She has had all of her puppy vaccines, dewclaws removed, she's been dewormed, micro chipped, and she comes with six weeks of pet insurance. If you applied for a puppy with us before, please contact me as we've had some computer problems here and I have lost some of the applications.

November 22, 2009 - Our 'Luna's Little Vanilla Bean' aka: Vanna is the proud mother of two gorgeous puppies.

Our 'Luna's Little Vanilla Bean' aka: Vanna is the proud mother of two gorgeous puppies. The sire is 'MBIS AM CAN CH Xoe's Oscar De La Hoya' aka: Oscar. Vanna has one little boy and one little girl. We will soon post photos of the new arrivals. Both of these puppies will be staying here with us.


October 29 / November 1, 2009 - Lower Mainland Dog Fanciers Show Abbotsford, BC

We had just an awesome weekend. This is Canada'a largest dog show and its a show that I look forward to every single year!

On Thursday at the Group 5 Specialty, under USA judge James Frederiksen, Xander was Best Puppy In Breed. Thank you Mr. Frederiksen for this wonderful win!

Then on Friday, under Ireland judge Ann Ingram, Xander was Best Puppy In Toy Group!!! We were so excited and proud of our little man! Thank you Mrs. Ingram for recognizing our spectacular little guy!

We'd also like to thank Aaron Andriash for the expert handling of Xander over the weekend. We will soon post a photo of Aaron and Xander's big win!


October 26, 2009 - Indy's beautiful puppies...

These are our new puppies out of Fantasy's Secret Indulgence & Am Can CH Double D's Roman Tomatoes. They are six weeks old. The pictures were taken by photographer James Murray.

October 16, 2009 - Vanna's 'expecting'....

We had an ultrasound done today and Vanna is indeed 'expecting' Oscar babies!!! Her due date is November 21.


September 11, 2009 - Luna's Little Vanilla Bean: 'Vanna'

Vanna is in heat right now and she will be bred to Can CH Xoe's Oscar de la Hoya: 'Oscar'. We are very excited about this litter!


September 5, 2009 - New Arrivals.....

Our little girl, Indy gave birth to four beautiful, healthy puglets! She had two girls and two boys. The sire is Can./Am. Ch. Double D's Roman Tomato who is owned and loved by Linda Spahr at Perlin Pugs. Indy is an excellant mother, she keeps those babies clean and their tummy's full!


September 4-7, 2009 - Extra, Extra: Xander 'Racks Up the Points'! Kamloops and District Kennel Club

We had another really successful dog show weekend in Kamloops. On Friday, under Judge: T. Udenberg DVM, Xander was Best of Winners and our Vanna was Best of Opposite Sex. Thank you Mr. Terril Udenberg for recognizing the beauty in both of our amazing dogs! See Vanna's winning photo on her page.....

Sunday under judge: J. Rowton, Xander was Best of Winners finishing up his Canadian Championship at just eight months of age. Thank you Mr. Rowton!

Monday under judge: Susan Quesnel, Xander was Best of Winners. Thank you Susan Quesnel!


August 22, 2009 - We have a New Champion! West Kootney & District Dog Show

Cali was Best of Winners, Best of Breed finishing up her Canadian Championship in style! Thanks to Judge: Susan Badick for this wonderful win. She was handled by my son, Cody Meikle. Check out her page for her New Champion Photo.....


August 14-16, 2009 - Puget Sound Pug Dog Specialty....

Xander was in Enumclaw, WA for the Puget Sound Pug Dog Specialty. He was shown by professinal handler: Ron Villafuerte. Xander did not dissappoint! At the Sweepstakes under judge, Lewis Bayne, he was Grand Sweepstakes Winner and Best Puppy. Then during the Pug Specialty show where 65 Pugs of all ages competed, under judge: Dr. Wanda Speciacci he was Best Puppy. On the last day in such intense competition, at seven months of age, he was pulled and given a second good look for Reserve Winners but, the older, more mature dog got it. We were so very proud of our seven month old little guy! Thank you to Ron Villafuerte for the excellant care, training, grooming and handling of Xander---we are happy to have found you!


August 12, 2009 - Welcome Melody!!!

Today, we had a new Pug girl come and join our family: "Can Ch. Windwalkers Sure Sweet Melody". First she came into our home and stole our pugs bed and all their toys and then she stole our hearts! Thank you Sandra Morgan for entrusting us with this sweet little girl....we are so very happy to have her here with us! Check out Melody's photo on her page....


August 10, 2009 - Is She Or, Isn't She?

We had a Relaxin test done on Cali and she is not expecting any Boo puppies---so sad! We will try breeding her to our very own Xander next heat cycle.


August 6, 2009 - Xander's Going On a Trip...

Today, we said goodbye to Xander. My husband, Ches drove him to Vancouver to Mesphisto's Pet Salon in downtown Vancouver. He is going to spend some time with Owner and Professional Dog Handler Ron Villafuerte. Xander will spend each day going to work with Ron. While he is there, he will workout on a treadmil, recieve hydrotherapy and spa treatments. Jeez, after all of that, I wonder if he'll want to come back home with me!?


July 19, 2009 - Our fingers are crossed because...

Cali has been rebred to Boo and if she's expecting puppies, they will be born in September.


July 18, 2009 - The 'Pug Stork' paid us a visit...

Darya gave birth via C-section to a beautiful, healthy black female puglet and she weighed in at 6.7 ounces. The proud father is: Brindun's Blues Legend. Both mommy and baby are doing well. We have named her 'Brisben'.

July 13, 2009 - We are so excited!

Darya has been gaining weight this last week and loosing hair on her belly. We had two ultrasounds done on her early on and they both showed no puppies. Well.......we had an X-ray done on her today and it showed that she in fact is pregnant with one puppy! She is sixty days along. Hopefully, everything will go well and I'll be posting photos of the puppy on the News and Puppies page next week.


July, 2009 - Great show weekend....

We had a very successful weekend at the Vernon Dog Show. On Friday under judge Thomas Alexander, Xander took Best of Winners, Best Puppy in Breed for two points. Under the same judge, Cali was Winners Bitch for two points. We were so happy! Thank you judge Thomas Alexander for seeing the beauty in both of these wonderful dogs!

Then, on Sunday under judge Wendy Maisey, Xander went Best of Winners, Best of Breed (over two specials), Best Puppy in Toy Group and then he blew us away by taking a Group 3!!!! We were so very proud of our little guy! He just needs three points to finish his Championship. Thank you judge Wendy Maisey for recognizing our gorgeous little guy! I also want to thank Michelle Yeadon for the expert handling of Xander on Sunday.

June 19, 2009 - Xander entering the show ring

Xander is maturing nicely and his first set of shows will be at the beginning of July. We are very excited! You can see a new photo of Xander on his page.


June 18, 2009 - Puppies: Darya

We had an ultrasound done on our Darya and unfortunately she is not expecting puppies. We will try her again next heat cycle.


June 11, 2009 - Vanna will be bred to the Number One Pug in Canada

We would like to announce another exceptional breeding that we will be doing this year. The dam will be our Luna's Little Vanilla Bean aka: Vanna and the chosen stud is the number one Pug in Canada: Xoe's Oscar De La Hoya aka: Oscar. We first saw this boy in person in April at the Canadian Pug Nationals in Chilliwack. Trust me, he is 'some Pug'!

May 17, 2009 - Darya has been bred to BB King

Darya has been bred to BB King and we will have an ultrasound done on her on June 13....hopefully to confirm that she is pregnant! If so, puppies will be born around July 18. We are very excited!


May 7, 2009 - Babyface Nelson has been placed in a wonderful home

Babyface Nelson has been placed in a wonderful home with Sarah and her fiancé in the Langley area where he will be very spoiled and loved! Thank you to everyone that inquired about him!


April 12, 2009 - Cody wins Best Junior Handler at the Pug National Specialty!

My son Cody showed Cali in juniors at the Pug National Specialty and she showed like a dream for him. Cody won Best Junior Handler........we were so proud!


April 12, 2009 - We had a great time at the Pug National Specialty in Chilliwack

Pugs came from various parts of the United States and as far away as Eastern Canada. We showed both Cali and Vanna five times over the weekend. Both girls showed extremely well and each won their classes two out of five times.

February 26, 2009 - A New Arrival

New Arrival at Brookside: We are pleased to announce that we have a new arrival coming over to us from Fantasy Pugs. He is a fawn male. His name is "Fantasy's Brookside Rack 'em Up" aka "Xander". We are excited about this gorgeous little guy and will be posting photos of him soon.


February 6, 2009 - Another Ultrasound for Cali

We took Cali for her ultrasound today and unfortunately, she is not pregnant. It was very disappointing but, on the upside of things, I can now show her at the Canadian Pug National Specialty in April.


January 28, 2009 - Ultrasound for Cali

We have an ultrasound booked for Cali on February 5 - hopefully this will confirm her pregnancy! She's acting a bit differently within the last week, more snuggly and she seems to be sleeping more. I had her into the vet's office the other day and when they seen her, they definitely thought she had gained a bit of weight. We are keeping our fingers crossed!


January 23, 24 & 25 - Ladies Kennel Club, Cloverdale, BC

Vanna had her first show this weekend and she was first in her 9-12 month class and then, Reserve Winners Female all three days. Our handler, Michelle Yeadon showed her and she said: 'Vanna was happy, always very happy!' We are proud of our girl and we are thrilled that she is such a friendly, outgoing character. We expect great things from her in the future!
